The Veritas Legacy Book 1

Anamaya Onyx has grown up being mistreated because of something her ancestor did. After the loss of her mother, she realizes she might be able to prove that her family was falsely accused of destroying another family’s bloodline. Now she must go to Nightsbride Academy to find answers. Only there is more going on there than meets the eye. And she first needs to be approved entrance into Nightsbride Academy and have her magic restored. Otherwise she’ll never be able to avenge her family.

This is the first book in the Veritas Legacy. Anamaya is the last of the Onyx line, and she isn't going down without a fight. The magic of this world is brilliant and it’s fun to learn alongside Ana as she’s learning more about her world. The other characters are all dynamically written. Sterling is a nasty piece of work. Then we get a great contrast to him, Drayven who is kind to our girl. And of course, we have the enigma of Vitra, who is a bit of a mystery as to what his connection to Ana is. The book had me on the edge of my seat, wanting to know what was going to happen next. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read the next book in the series, Wicked Spirit.
