Cyra has been raised on Mars as a healer by her mother. Suddenly her mother is missing, and she is called to the palace to serve Lord Zevran as his personal healer. But soon a conclave is called, and Zevran chooses her to be his adviser and brings her along. But Cyra is more than she seems and keeps things very close to her chest. This is the first book in the Solar Sovereign series. Cyra is a reluctant hero, with her own fallacies. We have many characters that she seems to have some romantic involvement. Lord Zevran who just wants to help his people. Ren her protective female bodyguard. And Lord Lucien, shadow wielder of a dead kingdom. This is an adult romantasy that reminds me a bit of Sailor Moon. With many beloved romantic tropes: one bed, slow burn, multiple love interests, forbidden love, and “burn the world for her.” The story is fill with magic and takes place in our solar system. I loved this book and can’t wait to see where the story will go from here.
