Beauty does not feel that she is anything like her nickname. She feels like the ugly duckling in a home with two beautiful sisters. But she loves her family so much. When her father comes home with a strange tale of a Beast in a castle and someone must go and choose to become a prisoner. Beauty knows that she is really the only person that should go. Will she be able to keep her word, or will she run away?
I know that I have mentioned before that Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fairy tales. This retelling is filled with magic. Beauty is very much like the characters we imagine for our main character. While the Beast is a bit different from some of the ones we have seen before. The castle is not like the one from the Disney movie. They people did not turn into things, they are more like spirits able to interact with their surroundings. Books are also a major part of this story. It is so imaginative and beautiful. I love this book, and it is one of my favorite books.
